The U.S Championships are underway in Columbus, Ohio and on Saturday night, the Pairs Free Skate will take place as the field looks to finish strong with the hopes of finishing on the podium after the event's conclusion on Sunday. Emily Chan and Spencer Howe topped the leaderboard after the Pairs Short Program with a score of 65.86, however, the pair have withdrawn from competition due to their health so the top spot on the podium is wide open. Ellie Kame and Danny OShea finished second in the short program with a 64.57 and will take the ice last as the top contenders still in the competition.

In third place, now second, Katie McBeath and Daniil Parkman finished the night with a 64.21 to round out the top three following the short program. Valentina Plazas and Maximiliano Fernandez are not far behind McBeath and Parkman with a 63.18. Alisa Efimova and her partner Misha Mitrofanov (60.48) and Chelsea Liu and Balazs Nagy (60.13) are neck and neck going into the free skate so the podium race is a tight one.
The pairs free skate results are always unpredictable as the potential for mistakes doubles in pairs competition much like the rhythm dance results.
